Concept illustration of a search interface and a missing website puzzle piece

Having a website does not guarantee that it will appear in Google results. Search engines must discover your pages, understand what they contain and decide when they are relevant to a search.

Check whether Google has indexed your site

Search for your domain name and set up Google Search Console. If your pages are missing, submit an XML sitemap and review the indexing reports for crawl problems.

Look for technical barriers

A page marked “noindex” asks search engines to leave it out of results. A robots.txt rule can also stop a crawler from reaching parts of a site. Check that important pages are available, linked from your navigation and not accidentally blocked.

Write for the searches your customers make

Pages need clear titles, useful headings and original content that explains a service or product. Avoid repeating the same generic text across several pages. If you serve a specific location, make that location clear where it genuinely applies.

Build trust over time

Maintain an accurate business profile, collect authentic customer reviews and earn relevant links from partners or industry sites. New sites can take time to gain visibility. Keep improving your pages and track the search terms and enquiries that matter to your business.
